Blogs are a way of advertising yourself; what you discover in life and how you want to be portrayed through your thoughts. It’s an open form to create yourself into a masterpiece. You can become a beautiful picture on paper. Time and effort goes into this development and you become an artist.
I want to be an artist of my ideas, yet keep the audience’s attention.
After searching word press themes, I picked the news theme. Although I do not want to be a journalist as a career, blogging is similar to journalism. Blogs need to capture readers by talking about topics that interest them. The best way to capture different audiences and more readers is to have a variety of topics available at first glance.
The news on the internet has mastered this technique. When you go to most news site, the main page has multiple article blurbs that require readers to click on them to continue reading. This allows readers to read the lead of different articles and topics quickly so they can pick the ones they want to read in more detail.
The same technique is effective in blogs. Since I will not be blogging about a specific topic or interest regularly, using blurbs on my main page will be effective. With traditional formatting for blogs, the newest article is first and readers have to scroll through it before they reach the next. If an article does not interest a reader, you can lose him/her in the middle of the article and he/she may not scroll to the next article. As a writer, I want to capture them on the topic that interests him/her whether it is the first or last article on my page.
Other characteristics I like about this theme is the picture at the top of the blog. This creative image helps capture readers and give them an idea of what the blog will portray. I also like the white background because it portrays a clean, clear tone.
