  • I have learned a great deal about social media, blogging and best practices. This has also opened my eyes to many things that I was not aware of. Since this is my last class before graduation, it has been a […]

  • I agree with the comment above as this blog post did inform me about some issues I did not know about. A lot of my friends are vegan but I never thought much of it. I didn’t know there were such good vegan places in Las Vegas either. I’ve never eaten any vegan food and before this blog post I never would have. However, this blog post opened my…[Read more]

I really like this post as it is very different than some other blogs for this assignments. I do not know much about local beauty professionals and this huge show. The show seems very interesting though. I can definitely see why so many people fly in from all over the world to see this huge show. It seems like a great one and thanks for such a…[Read more]

  • This is a little bit about myself and my first podcast.

  • Most students do not know the great importance of local politics. It took me awhile to understand this concept as well. It is normal for students to pay most attention to national news, because that news […]

  • Since social media is so prevalent in today’s society, it is important to know best practices, ways to monitor and how to post. It is important to think about how we use our own social media, so we can better […]

  • Everyone talks about Las Vegas as a hot, dry place with nothing but the Strip. However, Las Vegas has a lot more nature to offer than most think. It is hard to find much nature because it is so dry here, and it is […]

  • I agree that connection is huge in today’s society. Everyone is looking to connect in the world and social media has given people an easier way to do so. I also agree that it is best to have a personal account and a professional account. I wrote in my blog that it is so easy for journalists to accidentally make a mistake and it can never be…[Read more]

  • Wow, I love your use of statistics and use of videos. Your blog posts seem very well designed and I like your style of writing. I also agree with everyone else about your title, very catchy! • I really love your blog! It seems like you have probably blogged before in the past and you have a very good design.I have also ran into issues when creating my blog posts, and I think just about everyone has ran into issues. Blogs can definitely be confusing at times, but I think your blog is very good overall.

  • Twitter and Facebook is extremely important for journalists. In today’s society, most everyone is on some sort of digital social platform whether it be Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, etc. Journalists […]

    • I agree with your post. I think that best thing about Twitter is engagement. You can have all your followers engage in your conversation or even read through it. It definitely get’s the word out their faster than finding it through a newspaper. I think that a best thing for a company is to communicate with their readers and/or customers! It creates a connection to them and it makes them more loyal to you.

    • I like how you touched on some of the hazards of using social media. It is important to remember that once something is out on the Internet, it is hard to get rid of. As long as journalists utilize social media correctly it can really benefit them. I agree that social media really helps with engagement, and being able to respond to an audience instantaneously is important.

    • You make a lot of good points. Especially using social media outlets to potentially gain thousands of loyal followers. It also gives journalists the opportunity to share blog posts, thoughts, and other work not published by their employer. Of course, it comes with consequences and something like Twitter that should be dumb fun on the side becomes intricate and professional. And like you said, once something is posted on the Internet it stays there forever.
