• This semester was full of valuable lessons that I will take with me throughout the rest of my career. As I entered this course I didn’t know how to make a Youtube video, add photos to Flickr or even make a […]

    • It has been an honor participating in this course with you, Angelica!
Thank you for your hard work and your helpful comments for your peers.
      Have a wonderful summer!

  • I have honestly never been to first Friday before but after reading this post it definitely makes me want to go. I love the “when, where, who” at the beginning of the post. I think it was a great idea to let people know what’s going on at the intro of the blog. I do agree that downtown Las Vegas has a lot of things to offer than what’s on the…[Read more]

  • This was a great post! I really enjoyed the picture you used also. I think it was really cool how you included all the different djs and where they will be performing that day. Your writing is very concise and to the point. I like your use of descriptive words. I think this was a great post and was relevant to Las Vegas nightlife. I really like…[Read more]

  • This was such an informative post. It was so relevant to what’s going on today in Las Vegas. Many people don’t understand how important it is to go inside when there’s flash flood warnings or loud thunder. The headline definitely got my attention right away. The podcast was also very helpful. I really enjoyed your steps on what to do if you’re…[Read more]

  • This was such a cool post. I like how you decided to do a story about someone making it into the NBA from UNLV. I don’t follow UNLV basketball so I had no clue this happened. I’m happy I had to chance to read up on this so I’m not completely lost next time I talk to someone that knows more about UNLV basketball than I do. I like how the mini bio…[Read more]

  • This post is very interesting and I like your perspective. I do see the advantages of marijuana for medicinal purposes however I also see the negative effects of it. I definitely wasn’t aware that Nevada has some of most strictest testing laws. I love that you shed light on this topic and talked about how veterans are affective but the marijuana…[Read more]

  • This was such a great post, I love the picture you used. I’ve heard about this movie for the past 3 weeks and it’s been nothing but good things from it. This post definitely makes me want to see it. It’s crazy that it made $300 million in the first in 12 days. How incredible? I like the way you implemented Scott from New York Times quote. Great…[Read more]

  • When you think of energy drinks, what’s the first drink that comes to your mind? For me, it’s Red Bull. This company does a great job of penetrating the market with it’s one of a kind marketing techniques along […]

    • This is actually a great post and definitely relevant to the Las Vegas valley. Your writing is great, and your incorporation of links and photos really made the entire piece all the better! Good job on writing a piece that is similar to what I would see in the Review Journal or Las Vegas Sun.

    • Angelica – I originally saw your blog post through the Twitter feed, which intrigued me to click on it to read it further in detail. I actually have not heard of this Red Bull event occurring tonight, which is perfect because of its timeliness! Do you work for Red Bull or know people that do? I thought this was a unique topic. 🙂

    • Didn’t know this was going down on Sunday, so I’m glad I read this article a head of time! Good preview. I got to know a little of the history of Red Bull, which isn’t something people normally talk about.

    • I can definitely picture this post being in a local paper or magazine! It is just so interesting and relevant to Las Vegas, and I think people would really enjoy it. I like that you linked the stuntmen in your post, to videos of them performing. I personally would have enjoyed your own photos incorporated into the post, but the link to it is great as well. I really like the “active” shots that you got.

    • I agree with everyone that this is definitely something I could see in a local publication. Great story, and I had no idea this was happening!Who took the picture of the fountain? It looks like CG!

    • I always see red bulls teams when I am in other cities, however, none compare to the teams out here. I wasn’t aware of this event and would have loved to attend. I really like the shots that you captured. Great post!

This blog has such great information about the ways to use Tumblr. I’ve always been so confused when I got on Tumblr I would just look at pictures and wasn’t really sure how I could share them with people or comment on pictures or anything really. But this post definitely gives me a better understanding of the app. I really like how you said that…[Read more]

  • Wow, I really enjoyed reading this. It was so informative and different from anything else I’ve seen. I learned so much about how to conserve my water usage. I think it’s great that you can get fined for wasting water. I don’t think people understand how privileged we are to have access to so much clean water. There’s many countries around the…[Read more]

  • I love the title of this post along with the headlining photo. This post was written really well with a lot of great descriptive words, it makes me want to go to Disney right now. I enjoyed how you went into detail about what to expect from the anniversary, it really helps give an idea of what to expect and also how to plan for it. However, the…[Read more]

  • I agree that the immediacy of Twitter is a great aspect of the website that separates it from other social media websites. Facebook on the other hand can sometimes be just as fast, it doesn’t take long for someone to post something and minutes later get a lot of shares and likes. I think you bring up a great point about how Facebook could affect…[Read more]

  • I love Green Valley Ranch!I used to live no more than 5 minutes away from it and just like you I use to go there with my family all the time. You’ve taken some really unique photos of the District, you definitely captured the simple beauty this place holds. My favorite place to go in there is Balboa pizza, it’s so yummy!I like how you noticed that…[Read more]

  • This is a great perspective. I love the link you had to backup your points about our society and it’s love for social media. I agree with your point that journalism professionals can definitely benefit the most from the use of Twitter. I think Twitter is a great tool for all journalists or any professions for that matter.

I agree with so many of your points. I didn’t have a Twitter for the longest time because I didn’t see the point of it. Like you said, I didn’t think my 140 characters of whatever is on my mind didn’t matter, I never felt that what I had to say was really that important. But now that I’ve seen journalists and many other companies use Twitter the…[Read more]

    • I completely agree, we’re very lucky to have such beautiful scenery! I haven’t been up to Mt. Charleston in years, but you made me want to go back. I like going in the winter and seeing all of the snow, since we usually don’t get any. I’ve never been during the summer though! Also great job on the photos. My favorite was the one you used at the top of your article, it makes me miss winter!
