blank theme

Our social media pages are a blank canvas for us to openly express ourselves upon.

Ever since we have been allowed to customize our social media pages, I have had the hardest time doing so. I’ve never been able to make a definite decision, and it takes me an unnecessarily long time to even make a questionable¬†decision. I am not the most outgoing person when it comes to colors or prints, so I definitely did not want anything that overwhelmed my senses. I am a pretty plain person, so I decided to stick with something that I feel is moderately plain, but still has a little flair for individuality.

I have seen so many sites that offer themes, and some you even have to purchase. I can barely even navigate through a blog, let alone decide on a them to pay for! I can’t say that I was overly impressed with the themes that were offered, but I guess that just made my decision a little easier.¬†I decided to scroll through all of themes and jot down any that caught my eye. Then, I went back and previewed all of them, and narrowed it down to just a few choices. And just when I thought I had found one, I though it was too boring. It didn’t have many custom features, so I decided to change it to a theme that I could change up, even if it was just the colors or font. After sifting through a couple of my other options, I settled on the one that I have now, Striped Plus.

I really like the central layout of the design. I have always been a fan of the one narrow column, laid smack dab in the center of the page. I had my Myspace page once designed like that. You have no idea how long it took me to pick a theme back then. (Thankfully, I’m much simpler now.) This theme allows me to change any of the colors on the page, the fonts, and add and photos I may like in the header or background. I thought about changing the colors to a lighter theme, like gray and yellow (my favorite colors), but I decided to stick with the slightly darker layout. I may play around with the colors in the future, but for now, I am just happy that I could settle on one theme!
