McCarran International Airport will have a new terminal up and running June 27th, 2012.  Terminal 3 will start servicing international flights on Wednesday, with all flights originating at Terminal 3 by Thursday.  7 of the 14 gates will service international flights, while the other gates will service domestic flights starting late July.  Terminal 2 will no longer be used, and will eventually be demolished.

Terminal 3 will feature a lot of amenities that Terminal 2 does not feature.

All passengers will have access to a touch screen LCD map that has the layout of the entire terminal featuring all floors.

Ticketing with self check-in stations will be available to all passengers, hopefully making check-in a faster, smoother transaction.  Starbucks and a retail shop will be available to all passengers before they pass thru the security checkpoint.

Once making their way pass TSA, passengers will have a wide array of ways to spend their time waiting for their flight to board.

There will be a few recharge stations throughout the terminal so passengers will be able to recharge their electronics before boarding their flight to their connecting or final destination.  Passengers will also have a wide range of restaurants bars and retails shops to occupy their time.

The Duty Free Store by Nuance will be up and running tomorrow in time for the first flights out of T3.  With 10,000 square feet, and over 80 multilingual employees, this will be a one-stop shop for all travelers wanting to get their last retail fix before their long flights out of Las Vegas.  This store will have anything from tobacco and liquor to M.A.C. cosmetics and everything in between.  I have a feeling some passengers might miss their flights getting lost in the store.

Of course nothing else says Las Vegas more than the iconic slot machines found throughout the terminal flashing and beeping tempting passengers to spend more cash, in hopes of hitting it BIG!

Below you will be able to view some live footage of Terminal 3… sorry it’s so shaky!
