I ended up picking this blog theme because it was one on the few that allowed for a lot of personalization.  I liked the color pallet that came standard of blues, grays, white, and brown.  It has a very relaxed feeling now, but I think I could change the entire mood of the page just by swapping out the header picture.

I really like the font used for the widgets.  However, if there was one thing I could change about this theme it’s the font used for the blog name.  I wish they would of included that option because it makes the page a bit masculine.

One of my favorite things about this theme is how the homepage is set up.  I was able to add a second column of widgets allowing not only for easy organization, but a very visually pleasing format.  I choose to place the social media site widgets on one side while keeping the more basic widgets on the other.

It will be interesting to see how the white space in this format begins to function after there are several posts to fill the center column.  As of now my page has an open and airy feel.  To me it feels very organic and calming.  I think a lot of this has to do with the scenery photo I chose.  Unfortunately, because of the sizing restraints that could not be changed, the full image cannot be seen.  I was not too pleased with this.  I chose this photo because I like the message it gave as a whole, not just a portion of it.

I think throughout the semester this will be something I will be changing out regularly.  I really like the idea of being able to change my blog to fit my mood.  What do you think?  Would you change out your header picture or do you like the comfort of a set homepage?
