Cadence Morrissey’s passion for the craft of writing dates back to grade school. At the tender age of 9, she was recognized for her poetic talents and was published for a one-sentence poem called “Growing Up.” She still remembers it by heart.

“Growing up, once you’re there, you can’t go back.”

Her fascination with the art only grew from that point, and was reinforced by the encouraging efforts of her third grade teacher.

Since then, it has become second nature for her to take pen to paper. Infusing the stories that she writes with spice and vigor, concocting an experience; where her readers are inserted into the anecdotes, and osmosed into the moments expressed by her writing.

Her unique writing style and her ability to morph her product to fit into various publications and multi-platforms makes her a coveted journalist. She has catered to publications that include the Rebel Yell and Sinner Magazine. Utilizing the resources that social networks offer, she controls the content of FACEBOOK, MySpace and Twitter for the radio stations AREA 107.9 and 105.7 THE OASIS.

Morrissey’s future is ever-changing, with new opportunities arising constantly. She has a vast array of avenues that she could venture down, as she is set to graduation from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in May 2010. She will be graduating with a BA degree in Communications, and a minor in Broadcast Journalism.

Her interests are varied, spanning from a print journalist to a promotions director, or even a creative at an ad agency. When she decides what it is she wants to do, she knows it must encompass these different facets, as well as align with her personality. She must be allowed to express her creativity through her work, while being presented a challenge.

In the meantime she is taking her time. She knows that her drive, focus and unwavering determination will allow her to be successful in any professional choice she makes.
